A service to honor the life of Mr. James R. Edwards will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Oct. 1 at the funeral home.
Roy Edwards, 72, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, in Natchitoches. He was born April 20, 1945, in Natchitoches to Necie Viola Masters Edwards and Joseph Houston Edwards. Roy was a carpenter by trade and there was nothing he couldn’t build. He proudly served in the LA National Guard for many years. Roy was truly a one of a kind man and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his children, James Ray Edwards and wife Audrey of Cloutierville and Rhonda Barbin and husband Shannon of Boothville; siblings, Joseph “Bo” Edwards and wife Betsy, Marion Edwards and wife Patricia, Mickal Edwards and wife Brenda, and David Edwards and wife Reba. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Jeremy Edwards, Austin Barbin, Jared Barbin and Kaytlin Barbin as well as two great-grandchildren, Remylin Edwards and Aiden Barbin
