Natchitoches Car Show

360

Classic car enthusiasts came from all over to the annual Natchitoches Car Show Sept 29-30. This year, the car show took place on Front, Touline and Second Street.

HDBA (Historic District Business Association) member Sandra Dickens said 363 automobiles participated in the Natchitoches Car Show. While they don’t have an actual count since admission was free, Dickens said attendance was in the thousands. “We really appreciate the cooperation of law enforcement, fire and other first responders. Thanks also to the businesses and residents affected by the street closures,” she said. “We heard many good things about the friendliness of the people and how cordial the police officers were.”

Top winners included: Best Interior to Mick Packerson, ’57 Caballero; Best Paint to Jimmy and Kathy Garrett, ’65 Mustang; Best Engine to Bill Armstrong, ’23 T Bucket; Longest Distance to Jack Welsh, ’39 Chevrolet Master Deluxe (1,238 miles); and People’s Choice to Dales Wilson, ’70 Oldsmobile 44. The following bands played throughout the car show from three separate stages: Snake Doctors, Sammy, Luke & Paul, Cane Mutiny, Rivers Revue, Cane River Soul, Josh Hyde, Holota Trouble, Doctor Stokes, Henry Reegans and Lacour Trio.
