Monday, Sept. 25

Sunday we had a wonderful time praising God. Pastor Taylor preached the word from Ephesians. Children, obey your parents, for this is right in the Lord. Not only to children, but parents, we as well because there is a reward for our good works that don’t go unnoticed. The Good Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church invites you to join us in fellowship Wednesday nights in prayer and bible study beginning at 6:45 p.m. and morning worship at 9 a.m. Sunday. All are welcome. Kids are excited. Why? Because the fair is in town. It is a week of fun and many activities. The young and old can enjoy the fair. It’s a family affair so gear up and take the kids and enjoy the popcorn, foot-longs, cotton candy, and of course, the amazing rides.

The fair only comes to town once a year. Have fun. See you at the fair. Cotton, corn and soybeans are being harvested. The farmers are busy getting their crops in hoping they get a reasonable price for all their hard work. Pecan trees are loaded and it seems there will be plenty since they are beginning to fall. With the fall of the year here, we look forward to enjoying fresh mustard and collard greens and sweet potatoes. Hunting season will also be here soon. Look out squirrels. It’s time to head to the hills because the trees are not a safe place this time of the year.

Happy birthday this month to Brenda and Alvin Wallace, Brian Ellis Williams, Maxine Brown, Jermal Newton, Nathaniel Lilly, Octivia Addison, Hardrick Rives, Osborne Bradberry, Bessie and Shawanda Winn. Hoping there are more to come. Our prayers to the sick and shut-ins. Prayers to the Brisker family in the time of sorrow. Services were Saturday for Kessie Belford Brisker of Coushatta at 11 a.m. in Springhill Baptist Church . She will be greatly missed by many. Pastor Robert White officiated at the burial at King Hill Cemetery.
