The Provencal Community Development organization hopes to begin a new tradition this year. The organization will host the Trick or Treat on the walking track Oct. 31. Community members are being asked to take tables, tents, decorations and candy. Organizers hope to provide a fun and safe way to trick-o -treat with family and friends. To get a spot for children to enjoy, contact organizer Tammy Graves at 318-663-9984.Provencal Fall Fest Queen Taylor Trichel will host a bake sale at Provencal One Stop Saturday, Sept. 30. Money will be used to host the Queen’s Tea during Fall Fest. You can donate baked goods any time during the sale before 4 p.m.
The Natchitoches Parish Fair is in town this week and will feature a weekend rodeo. Friday and Saturday night events start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children 4-12. Children under 4 get in free.
The rodeo is brought to the fair by J2 Rodeo Co., and will feature 10 bull riders each night. Courtney Whitehead with Lularoe will host a fundraiser for Donna Lindsey Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Provencal United Pentecostal Church located at 134 Laurel St. Provencal.Proceeds will assist Donna with medical expenses. The Provencal Christian Academy boys basketball team is seeking sponsors. The PCA Knights will step out on the court this season in new uniforms.
Administrators and coaches hope to secure enough scholarships to cover expenses for the players. To donate or become a Knight sponsor, donate $50 or more. Sponsors will be featured on a Knight basketball T-shirts that will sell for $20 each. To become a Knight supporter, contact Angela Jennings at 472-6334 or Michael Jordan at 332-9197.
