NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University will celebrate Homecoming 2017 with a look back at the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, a retro theme, with activities and events for students, alumni and all friends of the university.
Dates and times for events are as follows.
Friday, Oct. 20
11 a.m. – Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament will be held at the NSU Rec Complex
1 p.m. – Varnado Hall Open House
5 p.m. – Alumni Art Exhibit with NSU graduate and collector Ron Wilkinson at Orville Hanchey Gallery
5:30 p.m. – The Homecoming Parade will begin with a line-up at Central Avenue. This year’s route will turn left onto University Parkway, proceeding west before turning left onto Tarleton Drive and ending Prather Coliseum. Immediately following, the Pep Rally will begin at Collins Pavilion.
6:30 p.m. – 1997 Football Team Reunion Banquet @ the Landing
7:00 p.m. – NSU BAA Mixer @ Hana Sushi Bar & Grill, Refreshments provided
7:30 p.m. – Homecoming Awards During Pep rally and DJ.
8:30 p.m. – Afterhours: Downtown by Decades…Graduates will meetup up downtown at specific locations by graduation year. 1960’s and 1970s – Mayeaux’s; 1980s – Maglieaux’s; 1990s – Mama’s Oyster House; 2000s – The Landing; 2010 to 2017 – The Pioneer Pub

9 a.m. – Homecoming Alumni Breakfast and Bingo @ Collins Pavilion
10 a.m. – N Club Hall of Fame Induction @ Magale Recital Hall
10 a.m. – Morrison Open House for Scholars’ 30th Anniversary (classes, faculty/student meet & greet)
10 a.m. – NSU BAA Annual Planning Meeting @ Student Union Cane River Room
11 a.m. – College of Business Reception – Outstanding Business Awards @ Russell Hall, Natchitoches Room
11:30 a.m. – Luncheon for Past Homecoming Kings & Queens and Mr/Miss @ Student Union – Ballroom
Noon – Scholars’ 30th Anniversary Picnic Lunch @ Morrison Quad
