When the Kisatchie Quilt Guild met last week, the ladies took some beautiful quilts including Martha Jordan’s “Dresden Plate” and “Heartland.” The new officers are president Martha Jordan, treasurer Billie Ann Bates, secretary Mary Ortego and installing officer Jessie Hand. Congratulations to all of these ladies and I look forward to seeing their great work.

Non-rider registration fee of $5 covers the Saturday lunch. Kids’ fee is $10 and does not include a T-shirt. Packet pick-up/on-site registration will begin at the campground pay gate from 4-6 p.m. Friday evening and from 7-8 a.m. Saturday morning. Saturday rides will be on the trails around Kincaid Recreation Area. Rides for all skill levels will be available. The shorter rides are geared toward beginner and intermediate riders. The long rides are for riders with more experience.

Ride leaders will accompany each group and maps/cue sheets will be provided and trail will be marked. Groups will assemble at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning near campsite #12. The Friday night ride will leave the campground at 7 p.m. Be prepared to ride in all types of conditions on these trails including mud, single-track, sand, hills, logs, roots and limbs. Carry enough water and food to sustain you for the distance you plan to ride. For those who are new to off road cycling, an introductory ride will be available on Saturday. This ride will cover a shorter distance over easy terrain. Guides will assist with riding skills and with the distance and pace determined by the group. Rides are geared toward adult riders but children and young adults are welcome to participate. Children must by physically capable and equipped to complete the ride distance and must also be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.
