Monday, Oct. 2The Provencal Christian Academy boys’ basketball team is seeking sponsors for the fall season. The PCA Knights will step out on the court this season in new uniforms.  Administrators and coaches hope to secure enough scholarships to cover expenses for players.  To  donate to become a Knight sponsor,  donate  $50 or more.  Sponsors will be featured on a Knight basketball T-shirt that will cost $20 each.  To become a Knight supporter, contact Angela Jennings at 472-6334 or Michael Jordan at 332-9197. The Knights kick off the  season Jan. 16  during an away game against Kingston.

Their first home game will be Jan. 19 when the boys and girls varsity teams play Victory at 6 p.m.   The seasons will run through April 6 and will end with the tournament at Provencal Christian Academy April 12-13.  Courtney Whitehead with Lularoe will host a fundraiser for Donna Lindsey on Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Sales will assist Donna with medical expenses and will be at the Provencal United Pentecostal Church at 134 Laurel St., in Provencal. The Flora community will host its Halloween Costume Contest  Oct. 26.  The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and there is no entry fee.  There will be a boy and girl winner in each age group.  The age groups are 3 and under, 4-7 and 8 and older.  The event is will be a safe, family friendly way to celebrate Halloween. The Provencal Community Development organization hopes to begin a new Halloween tradition this year.

On Oct. 31, the organization will host Trick or Treat the Walking Track.  Community members will take tables, tents, decorations and candy.  Organizers hope to provide a fun and safe way to trick or treat with family and friends.  Anyone who wants to  create a spot for children to enjoy should contact organizer, Tammy Graves, at 663-9984.
