The Lakeview Gators wanted so badly to give their fans and alumnus a victory against their heated rivals the Red River Bulldogs for homecoming night but were unable to score enough points to do so.
This loss puts the Gators at 0-7 for the season and hurts their chances of making a trip to the playoffs for the second straight year.
The Gators fought hard the entire game but were unable to come up with an answer on defense. With the noticeable absence of Dillon Longino on the defensive line to plug up the middle, Red River rushed for 390 yards.
Marcus Sowell made some outstanding plays on offense, defense and special teams and Nicholas Flakes played well on defense with 5 solo tackles and 3 assisted tackles. In addition, Daylon Fowler and Grayson George contributed on defense with 4 tackles each.
Janquel Allen had 9 carries for 67 yards and the Gators only touchdown. Dwaelon Shepherd led in passing with 69 yards on 16 passing attempts, the Gators ended the game with 164 total yards.
