A funeral service to honor the life of Joseph Michael Brossett will be Friday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches with the Rev. Marc Noel serving as celebrant. Interment will follow the service at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. A visitation will precede the service from 11 a.m. until service time Friday.
Mike was born in Shreveport March 29, 1953, to Ernest Brossett Jr. and Betty Davenport. He was a retired corrections officer who worked for the State of Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Brossett Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Brossett Davenport; sisters, Elaine Garland and Betty Bryant and husband Dennis; nephews, Brian Garland and wife Hailey, Jason Garland and Beau Dennison Bryant and wife Jami; he is also survived by three great-nieces and one great, great nephew.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Kenneth Hammett, Archie Dalme, Herbert Dalme, Steve Johnson, Beau Bryant and Jimmy Lawrence.
Honorary pallbearers are Brian Garland, Richard Dalme and Jason Garland.
