Natchitoches Parish Fire District #5 held their monthly meeting Oct. 3 at the Alton Lambre Subdivision at 7 p.m. The meeting was called to order, Prayer led in unison, Pledge of Allegiance, roll call, approval/modification to agenda, public comments or guest, which was none, and the adoption of the minutes from Sept. 11. The fire chief gave his report. The fire alarm in Natchez went off and they were called out two days on Clark Road. District 4 helped on a structure fire that happened last Thursday. It was a total loss. District 5 had a good turn-out in volunteers to the fire.
There were new office furniture purchases for the new fire station. There was no old business noted and neither was there any new business. Training is on the second Tuesday, but was cancelled due to preparing for the hurricane. The 4th Thursday training was held by LSU at the Louisiana technical college.
All volunteers are encouraged to go to training. Training was scheduled for Oct. 10 and again Oct. 26 of this month. Financial report was given and meeting was adjourned at 7:25 pm. Minutes from the Village of Natchez will be disclosed in next week’s issue of the Natchitoches Times.
