Monday, Oct. 16 Community members and guests are invited to the monthly Senior Adult Luncheon at FBC today, Thursday, at 11:30 a.m. The lunch will be chicken and sausage gumbo and potato salad.  Senior adult community members are invited and encouraged to take a friend.  Take a favorite dish to share.

 There will be a surprise guest speaker.  The Flora community will host its Costume Contest Oct. 26 during the Halloween carnival.  The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and there is no entry fee for the costume contest.  There will be a boy and girl winner in each age group.  The age groups are: 3 and under, 4-7 and 8 and older.  The event is will be a safe, family friendly way to celebrate Halloween.FBC will host a Fall Fest Fellowship  Saturday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m.  There will be a short bible study, a meal, fun and games. Trunk-or-treat will be Sunday, Oct. 29 at 5 p.m.  Anyone wishing to take their own car and decorate the trunk should plan to attend.

The First Baptist Church of Provencal has announced several upcoming fall activities and fundraisers for the community.  The youth group is selling hot tamales by the dozen for their YEC trip. Orders for tamales are being taken by Tammy Dupree and Brandy McManus or from any youth member.  The cost is $10 a dozen.The Provencal Community Development organization hopes to begin a new Halloween tradition this year.  On Oct. 31, the organization will host Trick or Treat The Walking Track.

The Provencal Christian Academy boys’ basketball team is currently seeking sponsors for the upcoming season. The PCA Knights will step out on the court this season in new uniforms.
