The Cane River Waterway Commission is updating Shell Beach with new docks. Construction will begin Oct. 25. The landing will remain open, however there will be areas closed during construction for safety. These areas are marked.
The NSU Recruiting Convention will host Fireworks. There will be fireworks on the north end of the downtown riverbank Nov. 1 at 8 p.m.
The downtown portion of Cane River will close at 7 p.m. and remain closed until the Fire Marshal gives the all clear “safety” release. No boats will be permitted to navigate during the closure. The rest of the lake will be open to navigation.
