On Sunday, Oct. 22, shortly before 5 p.m. Natchitoches Police Department received numerous reports of multiple subjects shooting at each other in the area of Reba Street. While details are sketchy, NPD learned two innocent victims were injured. A 5-year-old was shot in the lower calf and a 3-year-old, both female, received an injury to her foot.
Both injuries are non life-threatening and both children were transported to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. Further investigation revealed damages to some apartments as well as three vehicles.
NPD arrested Tyrease Evans, 18, Oct. 23, and charged him with three counts attempted first-degree murder and Demario Davis, 26, was arrested Oct. 22 and charged with four counts attempted first-degree murder. Christopher Kelley, 25, was arrested Oct. 24 and charged with four counts attempted first-degree murder. All were placed in The Natchitoches Parish Detention Center. A 16-year-old black male was arrested Oct. 24 and charged with two counts attempted first-degree murder and placed in Ware Youth Detention Center.
According to the mother of the two children injured during this incident, both girls were treated at University Health and released Monday. They are expected to fully recover from their injuries. The investigation is continuing.
