Holley Ann Irvin of Allen announces the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter, Whitney Shay Irvin, to Christopher Joseph Golden, son of Mr. and Mrs. William John Golden Sr. of Foxboro, Mass.
Whitney is the granddaughter of Johnnie Ray Irvin and the late Lura Sue Irvin of Allen. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Irvin and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Durr.
She is a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School in Natchitoches and received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Northwestern State University. She also received a Master of Science degree in biology with a cellular and molecular biology concentration from Louisiana Tech University. She is employed as a technical research assistant with Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass.
Her fiancé is the grandson of June Tarkington, the late Othel “Tarkey” Tarkington of Framingham, Mass. and the late Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Golden of Stoughton, Mass. A graduate of Foxboro High School in Foxboro, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in management from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Mass. He also received his Master of Business Administration degree in project management from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla. He is a clinical systems analyst with Hebrew SeniorLife in Roslindale, Mass.
The two will be wed Nov. 4, 2017, at Wildwood Resort in Zwolle. After a honeymoon to Aruba, the couple will return to their home in Randolph, Mass.
