Final care services for this Natchitoches native and member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Bermuda will be at the church Saturday, Nov. 11 at 11:30 a.m. with burial following in the church’s cemetery. The remains will lie in state for public visitation at the funeral home Saturday from 8-10:45 a.m. followed by a procession to the church. Services entrusted to Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home. Pastor Leo Walker Sr. will officiate.
On Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at 10:45 a.m. Ivory Dee Augustus took a sweet ride home where there is no more pain nor tears, nothing but joy.
Ivory Dee Augustus was 84.
She was born to Mrs. L.V. Williams and Mr. Ervis Hamilton Dec. 31, 1932.
She confessed Christ at an early age at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Gentry Davis.
Ivory Dee served as President of Natchitoches District #6 Mason and Eastern Star (Household of Ruth). Ivory Dee was a faithful member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Usher Board where she served as President. In addition, she served faithfully as District President of the New Beulah Baptist Usher Board as well as District President of the New Beulah Baptist Association Women’s Home Mission Society. She was an ordained Deaconess for St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
Ivory Dee Augustus was married to Leon Augustus Jr. for many years. He preceded her in death in March 2014.
Ivory Dee leaves cherished memories to her loving children, Lee Edgar Jones (Sharon), Wilmer Jones Jr. (Mamie), Alex W. Jones (Linda), Alvin Jones, Roger Hamilton (Yvonne), Ralph Hamilton (Sue), Mark Hamilton Sr. (Josie), Daniel Hamilton (Hortencia), Anthony Hamilton (LaWanda), Matthew Hamilton (Pearl) and John Jason Augustus (Carrie). She also leaves a loving sister, Mazie Adams; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
