On Wednesday, Oct. 25, the Chiefs swam at Centenary College in the North LA High School Swim Meet. Swimming were Derrick Anderson, Alyssa Broadway, Sarah Green, LiZhang Matuschka, Trey McDowell, Alexander Moran, Dane Steadman and Jett Steadman. On Thursday, Oct. 26, the freshmen/sophomore Chiefs swam at the Lambright Wellness Center on LA Tech’s Campus in Ruston. Swimming were Derrick Anderson, Alyssa Broadway, Trey McDowell, Alexander Moran, Dane Steadman and Jett Steadman. Swimmers dropping time in their races were: Derrick Anderson – dropped 7.32 seconds in his 200 Free (Shreveport), dropped 1.68 seconds in his 100 Free (Shreveport) Alyssa Broadway – dropped 3.25 seconds in her 200 Free (Shreveport), 0.61 seconds in her 50 Free (Shreveport), and 0.93 seconds in her 500 Free (Shreveport), and again dropped 0.56 seconds in her 50 Free (Ruston).
Sarah Green – dropped 0.11 seconds in her 50 Free, and 5.09 seconds in her 100 Free (both in Shreveport). LiZhang Matuschka – dropped 3.57 seconds in her 200 IM (Shreveport) Trey McDowell – dropped 0.49 seconds in his 50 Free (Shreveport), and 1.30 seconds in his 100 Free (Shreveport). He again dropped 1.18 seconds in his 50 Free (Ruston), and 0.61 seconds in his 100 Free (Ruston). Alexander Moran – dropped 1.57 seconds in his 50 Free, 0.04 seconds in his 100 Free, and 3.10 seconds in his 100 Back (all Shreveport) Jett Steadman – dropped 0.65 seconds in his 100 Free (Ruston)
Swimmers scoring points for their team were: Derrick Anderson – sixth place for 3 points in his 50 Free (Ruston); third place for 6 points in his 100 Free (Ruston) Alyssa Broadway – sixth place for 1 point in her 200 Free (Shreveport); fifth place for 2 points in the 500 Free (Shreveport); fifth place for 4 points in her 50 Free (Ruston); and first place for 9 points in her 100 Free (Ruston). LiZhang Matuschka – fourth place for 3 points in her 100 Breast (Shreveport) Trey McDowell – eighth place for 1 points in his 100 Free (Ruston) Boys 200 Free Relay Team of Dane Steadman, Trey McDowell, Alex Moran and DJ Anderson placed third for 12 points (Ruston) Going in to our Red River High School Swimming Conference Championship meet in Ruston Nov. 4, the swimmers high point report shows the following points earned over the season: LiZhang Matuschka – 60; Dane Steadman and Alex Moran – 28; Alyssa Broadway – 27; Tyler Nichols – 22.5; DJ Anderson – 14.5; Trey McDowell – 9.5; Cooper Miller – 4; Jett Steadman and Ben Walker – 2.5
