We at Untied Baptist observed Poor Man’s Dinner Sunday. I think everyone enjoyed it. Before dinner, we had good gospel singing by Doyle Waddle, Lillian LeBrun Sky Sharrow, Ernest Self, Martha Stevens and Glenda Sanders. Brother Mike and the kitchen crew will serve the Lakeview football team, crew and cheerleaders breakfast Friday morning. Saturday at the church, Nov. 4, people will meet to pack the shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. The choir has started practicing for the Christmas cantata. We will have Thanksgiving dinner at the Church Nov. 15.

The men’s prayer breakfast is Sunday, Nov. 5 at 8:30 a.m. The Veterans Day program at Lakeview will begin at 10 a.m. Nov. 9. Nativity, Lady of the Rosary and Trichel churches will observe All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Having birthdays in October are Liz LaBorde and Anita Roshto. Len and Janet Ernst observed their anniversary. Bingo at St. Joseph’s will be Nov. 5 and lunch will be served.

November birthdays include me, Marie Walker, Nov. 2. I will be 89. Other November birthdays will be Rae Nell Walker Nov. 3, Kylie Coleman Nov. 5, Jeff Custis Nov. 5, Zan Desadier Nov. 13, George Guin Nov. 13, Joshua Guin Nov. 23, Pat Mosley Nov. 11, Wayne Henry Nov. 13 and Rachel Shaddox. Hunting seasons have opened and Zachery Gorham got a nice big doe. He is the son of Ida and Jay Jones. Coby Stewart and his buddy, Allen Marty Lowring, killed several squirrels in the Black Lake area. They got enough for a nice gumbo.
