The Provencal Community Development Committee will host the 25th annual Provencal Fall Fest Nov. 10-11 in Provencal. The Fest will begin Friday, Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. with musical entertainment, followed by the opening ceremony and luminary memorial reading at 6 p.m. The evening will continue with a gumbo/dessert cook-off, cakewalk and more music and entertainment.
Saturday, Nov. 11, festivities begin at 7 a.m. with a “Thank You Prayer Breakfast” free for all veterans, police, firefighters, first responders in the parish and local ministers. A cornhole tournament, kids games, obstacle course, jumpers, a $100 prize treasure hunt and more musical entertainment will begin the day’s festivities. Vendors will be on site with arts and crafts, food and games.
Parade line up will begin at 11 a.m., with everyone lined up no later than 1:30 p.m. The Grand Marshals are the cast of Destination America’s “Killing Bigfoot.” Introduction of the Grand Marshals will be at 1 p.m., followed by introduction of Miss Provencal Fall Fest and her visiting queens. The parade will start at 2 p.m. Parade awards will be given at 3 p.m. by the stage following live musical entertainment. After more musical entertainment and vendor browsing, a community BINGO will be at the PJH Community Center at 5:30 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.).
