We hardly know what to wear because the weather seems to change every day. But I do appreciate the cooler weather. The busiest time of the year is approaching. I had a lovely time at Lakewood Inn with some of my family. It was so nice to see my good friends there, especially Jan Roberts. Smokin’ on the Red was last weekend. The weather was really nice. There were bands and face painting Friday, a puppet show, Abundant Life Choir, stomp team and Bush Baby Christian Rock. Jason Audirsch also played music.
Lakeview lost to Red River in the first game and Natchitoches Central lost the second game. The games were part of the festival. There was a haunted house that was a big hit. The sponsors were Red River Mill, C.W. Post, SWEPCO, Lakeview Pharmacy, CLECO, Steller Management, David Stamey, US Local 1331, Young Estate, Pilgrim’s Pride, City Bank and Trust, City of Natchitoches, Sheriff Victor Jones, All-in-One, Lakewood Inn, Small Town Stogies, CP-Tel, Cenla Environmental Science, R.B. Williams Family, Rep. Kenny Cox and Campti One-Stop.
We had many little friends Halloween night and they were not disappointed. I was happy to see them and their parents. The library had many activities that evening. They gave out treats to 70 trick-or-treaters. The library also loaned costumes. The staff took photos for 50 visitors.
