Sunday, the Old Bethel WMU sewing ladies presented a quilt to Bro. Jay. The ladies in the photo had a part in sewing the quilt. They signed their name on the quilt, too. Nell Settle, our leader, quilted it. We didn’t want to leave out Bro. Jay’s wife, Ida, so we presented her a T-shirt. Bro. Jay read a song that was written by Kalin Weeks, 9. Old Bethel sang happy birthday to John Settle, who had a birthday in October. He was sick the week of his birthday. Old Bethel will have our shoebox packing party Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. Old Bethel will host the Natchitoches Association WMU Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. The guest speaker is Denise Phifer. She is a retired school psychologist. She and her husband have done multiple mission trips to countries through the Nazarene Church.
Old Bethel women will provide the food. Join us for an evening of enjoyment. Bro. Jay preached on 2 Samuel 13:2-5. His title was “Friends.” Koltyn Joseph Crump was crowned Baby King of the Basil Louisiana Swine Festival Saturday and rode on back of a red convertible in the parade. He is the great grandson of James and Sandi Strickland, members of Old Bethel. King Koltyn and his sister and brother, Kensley Grace and Kason Lane Gordon, went trick-or-treating. Today, Thursday, is Trinity Baptist senior adult luncheon. The guest will be Doris Garlington. Trinity will have its Thanksgiving meal Sunday, Nov. 12 after the worship service.
