Craft show, festival, gala on calendar for upcoming weeks

The Fleur de Lis Arts and Crafts Show will offer a variety of unique, hand-made items from over 100 artists at the Natchitoches Events Center Saturday, Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The Natchitoches/Northwestern Christmas Gala is Nov. 29 – Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. (on Dec. 1, times are 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.) at A.A Fredericks at NSU. Tickets are $10. The well renowned Natchitoches Christmas Festival is Saturday, Dec. 2. The day will include the “City of Lights” 5K at NSU at 7:45 a.m., free admission to the LSHOF, the parade starting at 1 p.m., live entertainment and will end with a fireworks show over Cane Lake. Admission armbands to Front Street and the riverbank is $10 for ages 12 and over.

The 9th Natchitoches-NSU Multicultural Christmas Concert is Tuesday, Dec. 5 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in Treen Auditorium at LSMSA. If you would like to perform or would like more information, call 357-4332 or send an email to folklife@nsula.edu. Entries are due Nov. 3.

The Relay for Life of Natchitoches Parish will be April 27, 2018, from 6 p.m.-2 a.m. at the NSU football tailgate field. Form a team, join the committee and invite a survivor to the event. Theme is “Don’t sit calm, stand up & fight cancer.” Visit www.relayforlife.org/natchitochesla.

Natchitoches Hope for Paws (NHFP) hosts Chili’s Give Back Night every third Thursday of the month from 4-10 p.m. Tell your server you’re there to support NHFP and Chili’s will donate 15 percent of the total of your bill to NHFP.
