CLTCC to host FAFSA financial aid completion day Nov. 29

211

Central Louisiana Technical Community College at Natchitoches will host a Financial Aid Completion Day Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Representatives will be available to help students and parents complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Completing the FAFSA is the first step to receive most forms of federal student aid including Pell Grants, low-interest federal student loans and to participate in the federal Work Study program. In addition, several state student financial aid programs, including the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) scholarship program and the Louisiana Go Grant need-based aid program, require completion of the FAFSA in order to qualify for and access funds.

Participants should bring their 2016 signed Federal Income Tax Return, Social Security card and driver’s license or identification. If a dependent or applicant is under the age of 24  bring parent’s or guardian’s 2016 signed Federal Income Tax Return (if you have a child, are married, are in the armed services, or are legally emancipated, you do not have to input your parent’s information). If you were married after filing taxes, you have to report your spouses taxes. Any untaxed income records for 2016 (Social Security temporary assistance to needy families, welfare, or veterans benefits records) are also needed for documentation.
