A service to honor the life of Randall Gordon “Randy” O’Bannon Sr. will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27 at First Baptist Church of Provencal, 23 Maple, Provencal, with Bro. Bill Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at the Provencal Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the church.

Randy, 66, and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017. He was born Dec. 20, 1950, to Joseph Gordon O’Bannon and Eula Geraldine O’Bannon of Natchitoches Parish. He went to school in Provencal. He retired as a supervisor in the insulation and carpentry department of Brown & Root, Haliburton after 31 years of service.

His buddies knew him as Hammerhead. He loved fishing and hunting and he was a true outdoorsman. One of his favorite things was joking and picking on his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and always remembered as a loving husband, caring father, awesome Poppy and son.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Gordon O’Bannon.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon O’Bannon; children, Jennifer Reno and Randall O’Bannon Jr.; mother, Geraldine O’Bannon; sister, Beverly Davis and husband Ralph; and three grandchildren, Stephen McCallister, Delores “Dee” O’Bannon and Erica O’Bannon; as well as many life-long friends.

Those honored to be pallbearers are Terry Estes, Louis Fontana, Larry “Man” Lindsey Jr., Joseph Brett Johnson, Jeremy Yopp and Roy Massey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Lindsey Sr. and Ralph Davis.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
