Barbara Ann Brown, 67, of Winnfield departed this life peacefully Nov. 27, 2017, in Humble, Texas, while in the care of her daughter.
Barbara was born to the late O.C. and Eudora Brown Jan. 20, 1950, in Louisiana.
Barbara graduated from Pinecrest High School and later went to Northwestern State University to receive an Associate of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Barbara moved to Natchitoches in the early 90s and remained there until May 2017. Barbara loved God and was a faithful member at Grand Ecore Church of Christ in Natchitoches. Barbara was very passionate and devoted to the prison ministry at Grand Ecore. Barbara worked diligently sending educational materials to the prison ministry so they could learn more about God. She was a very compassionate “giver.” She was a caring and strong mother.
Barbara is survived by four children, Reginald Brown, Candace Adekunle, Eltonio Brown and Krista Durham; and two adopted grandchildren, Jeremiah and Brittany Henderson; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be from 9-10:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Grand Ecore Church of Christ in Natchitoches with services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. at Winnfield Cemetery in Winnfield.
