A team from Donnie Bickham Middle School in Shreveport took first place in the third annual Robotics Competition at Northwestern State University. Broadmoor Middle School won second place and Caddo Middle Magnet won third in a contest that drew more than 200 participants. This year’s event included a Smart Structures Showcase in which high schools and the Louisiana State Police demonstrated their capabilities with robots, their functions and purposes. Spearheaded by Dr. Jafar Al-Sharab, the Robotics Competition was presented by NSU’s Department of Engineering Technology with assistance from the Natchitoches Chamber Education Fund.
