A Rockin’ Louisiana Christmas concert, which was a huge hit in Natchitoches last year, is returning to the Natchitoches Events Center Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. The event is presented by the Natchitoches Jazz and R&B Festival.
The concert will feature local show band Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs, along with guests Rock and Roll Hall of Famer James Burton, Grammy-winning Zydeco legends Wayne Toups and Jo-el Sonnier and Estelle Brown of Elvis Presley’s backing group, The Sweet Inspirations.
According to Burton, the decision to present the show again was a no brainer. “We all had such a fantastic time last year and got such an amazing turnout and crowd reaction. We all wanted to come back and do the show again.”
Toups said that, while the show would be similar to the one that was presented last year, there would be lots of surprises as well. “You are going to see some different stuff for sure,” said Toups. “When we all get together, there ain’t no tellin’ what is going to happen.”
Tickets are $20 for general admission and $50 for VIP tickets, which include preferred seating, a meet and greet and photo opportunity with the artists.
Tickets may be purchased at The Harrington Law Firm, Dickens and Company, Plantation Treasures, Maglieaux’s Riverfront Restaurant, The Landing, several area banks and will soon be available online at www.natchjazzfest.com.
