The Natchitoches Baptist Association held their Christmas Celebration for ministers and wives Tuesday at Merci Beaucoup Restaurant in Natchitoches. It was headed up by Bro. Benji Colvin. It was a night of food, fellowship and fun that was planned to honor those that are a part of the Ministry Team of the Natchitoches Baptist Association. The Advent Services continue at Bellwood Baptist Church. Last Sunday’s Advent and Scripture Reading was by Tammy Wyatt and Susan Cook did the lighting of the candles and leading in prayer. They will continue this advent right up to Christmas Eve as we remember Jesus’ birth, the past, where we are right now with Him in the present, and as we look forward to His second coming, the future.
Some of the church members at Bellwood Baptist Church have been practicing for their Christmas Program, which will be this Sunday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to come watch “The Evening News Hour” as the news anchor people will be corresponding with news reporters in Bethlehem as they discover some really amazing news, being the miraculous birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
These news correspondents are on the scene, interviewing shepherds, an inn keeper, Joseph and Mary, and Magi as the story unfolds. There will be refreshments following the Christmas play. Bro. Roger preached at Bellwood Baptist Church using scripture from Matthew 22:1-14 which tells the parable of the Wedding Banquet.
Jesus relates this parable to His invitation to all who will accept His invitation of salvation, but just as those who refused the wedding invitation, there are those who also refuse Jesus’ invitation for salvation.
