UPDATE***
A single vehicle crash early Monday, Jan. 15 on Hwy 6 West will cause a temporary power outage for local residents. The operator of the 1994 Nissan 6000 pickup, identified as Kevin Ray Evans of Natchitoches, was not injured.
Evans apparently lost control of this pickup pulling a utility trailer loaded with firewood after hitting ice on the roadway. The pickup slid into a ditch and came to rest at a utility pole. SWEPCO crews were on site around 7:45 a.m. and stated they would cut power to replace the broken pole. The outage should only affect residents in the direct vicinity of the crash.
The call came in at 7:37 a.m. NRMC, LSP Troop E and NP25 Dep. Brown-Denny were dispatched to the scene.
DOTD has been contacted to sand the icy patch.
