The Natchitoches Central Chiefs went into halftime with a 1-point lead but rallied in the second half to beat Ponchatoula by 16 points 62-46.

Friday night at the Tee Pee was truly a tale of two halves. The Ponchatoula Green Wave came in as the 32nd seed in the playoffs with the mentality of nothing to lose. Before tip-off, head coach Thomas Taylor told his team in the huddle “Let’s leave it all out on the floor tonight and make history.”

Early in the first half Ponchatoula played inspired basketball, their big three at 6’5”, 6’8” and 6’8” controlled the paint by forcing the Chiefs to attempt awkward shots when they drove the lane.

The first half ended with the Chiefs leading by one point, leaving the Chief’s fans shocked while the Ponchatoula fans where pleased about how well their team was playing against the #1 seed Natchitoches Central Chiefs.
