Pineville High School students Mavi Pace, Rashiqa Abdel-Jabbar, Hayle Weatherford and Alaura Raila were among the dozens of high school students who attended the Educators Rising Conference hosted by Northwestern State University’s College of Education and Human Development Monday. About 100 students from Rapides, DeSoto, Sabine, Natchitoches and Red River parishes participated in the event, designed to encourage high schoolers to become teachers. NSU students and faculty hosted panels and breakout sessions to illustrate the many ways teachers impact the lives of others.
