The recent Father-Daughter Dinner and Dance that was Feb. 16 inside Marthaville gym was a huge success. Tickets for this event were by reservation only and it was sponsored by the Marthaville PTO. The evening began with dinner, which consisted of chicken alfredo, garlic bread and salad and strawberry truffle for dessert. After dinner, a local DJ from Natchitoches, Justin Metoyer, turned on the music and everyone danced the night away.
A total of 136 attended the event. It wasn’t just for the dad’s but any father figure was able to attend as an escort. At the end of the night, a dance off took place. The winner was Jason McLarty and his 3-year-old daughter Adeline McLarty. These two must have done some kind of dancing because the videos that I saw posted on Facebook, the little ones were tearing the dance floor up! It was a night to remember.
The love and pride in these daddy’s faces are just priceless! I know several were thinking that just the other day, their daughter was born or just trying to walk and now look at her. I’m sure some were even shocked when they saw just how beautiful their little girl really was. In a blink of an eye, your daughter is now a grown woman and you never saw it coming. I wish I could post all of the photos of that one night. To me they are just priceless, but you never know; if I do get more photos in, then we may have a part two to this. It was just that good.
Marthaville PTO, you really out did yourselves on this one. Heather LaGrange offered the photo packages with all proceeds going to the PTO. Our school is one of the very best, they work together and this is just an example of that. I cannot wait to see what the next project will be. I’m sure it will be outstanding.
A former Marthaville resident, Dale Osborn Rains, passed away Feb. 14, 2018. He was 81-years-old.
