The Times answered an outcry from residents and motorists on Dufrene Road (Huffman Road), which runs alongside Lakeview High School. The road is a highly traveled area and provides access to the girl’s softball field.
The dirt road was in such a state, motorists were getting stuck in the mud and being rescued by neighbors and passers-by.
The Times contacted Parish President Rick Nowlin who contacted the highway department. “We learned that it had already dispatched a crew to make repairs to the road,” Nowlin said. In the top photo a motorist is stuck. The bottom photo shows the repairs.
