Agents could smell the odor of marijuana around the front porch area. Mr. Metoyer was then detained by LA P&P.

Due to possible parolee/probation violations including possible consumption of drugs, LA P&P requested assistance from NMJDTF agents for a compliance search of Mr. Metoyer’s address.

After the conclusion of the search of the residence, Agents located to following:

  • Approximately 14 grams (or 1/2 ounce) of suspected Methamphetamine
  • Suspected Xanax (Alprazolam) tablet

  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Approximately $459.00 US currency on Mr. Metoyer’s person.

Mr. Metoyer was then informed he was under arrest for the narcotics located inside his residence and was transported to the NMJDTF Office for a post-arrest interview. During Metoyer’s recorded interview he claimed sole ownership of the evidence that had been recovered from his residence. Mr. Metoyer was transported to the NPDC for booking on the following charges:

Through the post arrest investigation process, Agents of NMJDTF collected new information that Mr. Metoyer had more narcotics, namely Marijuana, at his residence that had not been located. Agents of NMJDTF then collected further information and requested a search warrant for Mr. Metoyer’s residence. A 10th Judicial District Court Judge approved a search warrant for the residence.

During the execution of the search warrant at the residence Agents came in contact with Mr. Metoyer’s girlfriend, Schnesha Braxton, who lived at the residence and Mr. Zantari Smith. Agents had extensive experience with Mr. Smith and were aware that Mr. Smith was on Probation for previous narcotic distribution convictions. Agents informed both subjects of the search warrant.

After a search of the residence was completed Agents located the following: • Two clear bags of suspected marijuana (approximately 2 ounces)

Due to the search warrant, all subjects at the residence were searched as well. During this search, Agents located narcotics on Mr. Zantari Smith’s person. Mr. Smith was hiding a small clear bag of suspected Methamphetamine inside his pants. Mr. Smith was informed he was under arrest and transported to the NMJDTF for a post-arrest interview. Prior to the interview, Mr. Smith was searched again and was found to be concealing a bag that contained 68 suspected Ecstasy (MDMA) tablets. Mr. Smith was read his Miranda Rights and interviewed. Mr. Smith stated the Methamphetamine and Ecstasy belonged to him (Smith). Mr. Smith was then transported to the NPDC for booking on the following charges:
