A memorial service celebrating the life of Ruth Evon Lee Broadway will be at Central Church in Robeline Saturday, March 24. A visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. at the church prior to the service at 2 p.m.
Evon peacefully passed away with loved ones by her side at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria March 17, 2018. She was born Aug. 1, 1939, to Tom Lee and Jenny Thibedaux Lee of Vowells Mill.
Evon was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Broadway; her parents, Tom and Jenny Lee; brothers, Lynn Lee, Doyle Lee, Kenneth Lee and Elbert Lee; and sisters, Marie Colston and Annie Mae Higgins.
She is survived by her brother, Roland Lee and wife Virginia; sister, Loretta Davis; son, Billy L’wayne Broadway and wife Terri; son, Tilmon Ray Broadway and husband Dan Somerston; granddaughters, Brandi Broadway and Summer Broadway; grandson, John Broadway; great-grandsons, Gatlin Dice and Waylon Tedder; step grandson, Dustin Prudhomme and wife Katie and their children Natalie and Owen; step granddaughter, Kristy Sanders and husband Chris and their children Jayden and Luke; along with a host of nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.
Evon loved life and all of those around her endlessly. She was a very strong willed and charismatic soul. She loved her Lord and thanked him every day for all his blessings. She was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many.
