William “Bill” Coleman was born June 11, 1950, in Espanola, N.M., and passed away April 2, 2018, at his residence.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who loved nothing more than to fish on Black Lake, especially with his family and his dog, Starter, who could always be found by Bill’s side even in his boat. He served nine and one-half years in the U. S. Army, where he ended with the rank of Staff Sergeant and was trained as a Track Vehicle Mechanic and a Tank Turrent Repairman. Bill served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded a National Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and three Good Conduct Medals. However, while Bill was a committed U. S. Army Infantryman, he will be remembered the most for his love of his family, his enjoyment of fishing and his playful spirit. He is loved by many and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by Mavis Whatley-Coleman; his father, Hyman LaCaze; and his mother, Alene LaCaze.
He is survived by his son, William Otis Coleman Jr.; two daughters, Angie Coleman and Britany Lowe; and two grandchildren, Erin Lowe and Stephanie Engel.
Pallbearers will be Travis Guin, Christopher Lowe, Kevin Kelley, Lee McBride, Marvin Runnels and Aaron Ockerman.
Honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Quick.
n lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Wounded Warriors.
