Funeral service for WF Watley will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hagewood. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 16 at the funeral home.
WF, who was also known as “Dub,” was 81.
He passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 in Natchitoches. He was born June 20, 1936 to John D. Watley and Eula Maude Wyatt Watley in Natchitoches.
He will be dearly missed but always remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Nolley Watley; a daughter, Virginia Dell Watley; parents, John D. Watley and Eula Maude Wyatt Watley; and siblings, Marjorie Horn, Tressie Orsborn, Elaine Weems, Pat Ray and Ray Watley.
He is survived by his beloved family; children, Wayne Watley Sr., Margaret Ann Thompson, Roy Eugene Watley and wife Bonnie, Eddie Watley and wife Javonna, Lisa Jackson and husband John, and Lori Banes and husband Lyn; a brother, Roy Watley and wife Linda; grandchildren, Wayne Watley Jr., Amanda Helms, Tonya Anderson, Brandin Frost, Daniel Frost, Heather Miller, John Watley, Shaina Smith, Whitney Crooks, Kaitlin Elkins, Marcus Elkins and Harley Stroud; as well as 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews and many life-long friends and beloved friends from the courtyard.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Watley Jr., Brandin Frost, Marcus Elkins, John Watley, Nicholas Davis, Harley Stroud, Trey Smith and Corey Garrett.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Courtyard of Natchitoches and Hospice of Natchitoches for the care given to Mr. Watley.
