The ladies of the St. Denis Garden Club showed off their floral-arranging skills for the Loveliness of Flowers Spring Floral Show Tuesday, April 17 at The President’s Home at Northwestern State University.
At last month’s meeting, members drew areas of the home written on slips of paper and that’s where it was decided they would place their arrangements. They meticulously displayed their unique bouquets, taking into account their area’s surroundings. Margie Pierson, longtime member of the club, taught the others many techniques on floral arrangements. “I’m so proud of them,” said Pierson. “They have really blossomed.”
The floral show was hosted in other locations in years past, but this year, NSU First Lady Jennifer Maggio graciously opened the home for the garden club. She knew that former first lady Brenda Webb had opened the home for the club in the past. Maggio certainly didn’t mind having the beautiful arrangement in the home and said it’s even inspired her with her own interior decorating ideas. She also said she wouldn’t mind opening the home in the future for the loveliness of flowers.
