A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. L’vina LaCaze Coutee will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Isle Brevelle with Father Charlie Ray serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Bay Springs Cemetery in Chopin. The family will receive friends Friday, May 4 from 5-8 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
L’vina, 85, and a past resident of Chopin, passed away in Longview, Texas, April 26, 2018. She was born Oct. 8, 1932, to Phillip LaCaze Sr. and Elma Beebe LaCaze in Chopin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Barney Coutee; and siblings, Pearline Wise and Phillip LaCaze Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Suzanne Coutee, Pamela Ann Blevins and Cheryl Diane Castner; a granddaughter, Hollie Renee Strickland; great-grandchild, Saylor Strickland; and her siblings, El LaCaze, Anna Mae Walker and Sue Johnson.
