The Natchitoches Parish School Board recognized Students-of-the Year at the committee meeting Tuesday. From left are Supt. Dale Skinner, middle school winner Tinley Durr from Marthaville, elementary winner Gracie Moore from NSU E-Lab, high school winner Joshua Fortenberry from Natchitoches Central and contest director Anita Dubois who is director of child welfare and attenance. Each school selects a winner that competes at the parish level. Those students submit a portfolio and undergo an interview. The contest is sponsored by the La. Dept. of Education. Student-of-the-Year judges were Annie Oliphant, Dion Boyett, Dennis Breland, Linda Page, Carmella McCart, Corey Poole, Reba Phelps and Juanice Gray.Middle School students in the eighth grade who were their schools student-of-the-year were recognized at the school board committee meeting Tuesday.
