La. Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries agents on a regular patrol of a stretch of Bayou Pierre about 1 mile south of the bridge on Hwy 174 near Jordan ferry at the Natchitoches/Red River Parish line discovered a badly decomposing body floating in the water. Natchitoches Parish Sheriffs Office received the call at 1:11 pm today. RRPSO, NPSO and coroners from both parishes responded.
The body has been turned over to the coroner’s office for an autopsy.
Due to the level of decomposition it is unclear of the race or sex of the body. However preliminary observations revealed markings on the body are not consistent with markings of the missing Natchitoches Parish woman, Cynthia Osborn.
