La. Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries agents
on a regular patrol of a stretch of Bayou Pierre
about 1 mile south of the bridge on Hwy 174
near Jordan Ferry at the Natchitoches/Red
River Parish line discovered a badly decomposing
body floating in the water. Natchitoches
Parish Sheriffs Office received the call at 1:11
p.m. Wednesday, May 16. Red River Parish
Sheriff ’s Office, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s
Office and coroners from both parishes
responded.
NPSO Detectives and the Coroner’s Office
received preliminary autopsy findings
Thursday on the body.
After an autopsy was performed by Forensic
Pathologists at University Health -Shreveport,
it was determined the body is possibly a white
female, approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall, with
what appears to be butterflies tattooed on both
lower legs, flowers on the front of left thigh
with a star beneath it and a tattoo on the
underside of the right forearm with an
unknown word.
The victim was wearing a T-shirt with a tricolored
pineapple on front and is possibly
between the ages of 30-40 and deceased approximately
2-3 weeks.

The investigation is active and ongoing by
the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s Office and
Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office with
assistance from the Red River Parish Sheriff ’s
and Coroner’s Offices.
