A Boyce motorcyclist riding with a group of riders suffered moderate injuries in a motorcycle crash on the Campti Cut-Off earlier today according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday afternoon May 19 at approximately 3:15pm, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS and Life Air responded to a motorcycle crash on La. Hwy 486 near the Cherokee Club.

According to Deputies, 50-year-old Brenda A. Barnhart was operating a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcyle traveling southeast on La. Hwy 486 when she entered a curve partially leaving the roadway to the right. Barnhart then overcorrected causing the motorcycle to skid sideways ejecting her.

Barnhart was treated at the scene by EMS for leg and arm injuries believed to be non-life threatening then airlifted by Life Air to Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.

Deputies say Barnhart was riding with a group of motorcyclists when the crash occurred. She was wearing a protective helmet.

Lt. M. Wilson investigated the crash for the NPSO.
