
Destinee and Zoie Britt, daughters of Cheryl Britt of
Natchitoches, opened Tuesday’s session of the Louisiana House
of Representatives singing the National Anthem.
Rep. Terry Brown, I-Colfax, said he first heard the sisters perform
at a Veteran’s Day program. “I was very impressed, so I
invited them to come sing here,” he said in introducing them to
the House.
Representatives gave the girls a standing ovation for their
tight harmonies.
Destinee Belicia Victoria Britt, 15, is a freshman honor student
at Lakeview Jr/Sr High School in Campti. Besides singing
in the school chorus, she excels at playing the clarinet, is a
Senior Airman in the Air Force JROTC program and is on the
track team.
Zoie Karis Katelyn Britt, 14, is an eighth grader at Lakeview
Jr/Sr High School. She is the Natchitoches Parish Student of
the Year, excels at playing the flute and singing in the
Natchitoches Parish Gifted and Talented Music Program, is
treasurer of the 4-H Club, is on the Dominion Dance Team and
is on the junior varsity track team.
