Carverious King, 16, was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center May 31 charged with two counts attempted second-degree murder. His bond is set at $1 million.

The charges stem from an incident Thursday, May 17 when just before 9 p.m. the Natchitoches Police Department responded to a call of a subject being shot near Lafayette and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. King, a juvenile, was arrested May 18 and placed in the Ware Detention Center.

Authorities say King is being tried as an adult. As a result he was transferred from Ware and booked into the NPDC.

The victim, Simco Morris Jr., 22, has since been released from the hospital.
