Rya Grace Jones and Shelby Kaitlin Savell are the recipients of the Huey P. Woodson II Memorial Scholarship, a monetary value of $1,000 towards the university of their choice.
Jones is the daughter of Rickey and Alecia Jones. She graduated Natchitoches Central High School in May, ranked 105th out of 280 in her class. Jones plans to attend Northwestern State University to study nursing.
Savell is the daughter of Walker and Lonnie Savell. She graduated from Lakeview High School in May, ranked 1st out of 80 in her class. Savell plans to attend Northwestern State University to study early childhood education.
