A memorial service and Rosary for Harry Coutee will be Friday, June 15 at Blanchard-St Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Service and Rosary will begin at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 16 at 10 a.m. at St Augustine Catholic Church in Isle Brevelle with the Rev. Charlie Ray serving as celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow at the St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Caroline “Carrie” Coutee of Marshall, Texas; son, Harry Coutee Jr. and wife Wanda of North Hollywood, Calif.; daughters, Mary Coutee of Marshall, Texas, Sharon Dunn and husband Ray of Marshall, and Michelle Adams and husband Timothy of Robeline; grandchildren, Kenda Dean, Harrison Coutee, Evann Coutee, Steven Dunn and Michelle Dunn; great-grandchildren, Khloe Soto and Christian Boss; along with a host of nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Colin Coutee and Mary Margaret Gallien Coutee; brothers, Ernest Coutee, Ellis Coutee, John Coutee and Colin Coutee; and sisters, Gertrude Coutee, Augustine “Gussie” Mae Cohen and Mary Lee Coutee.
Harry was a loving husband and father. He retired from the Navy in 1967 after 21 years of service.
Harry was a self-taught musician and continued to entertain many people up until his illness. Harry wrote his own music and was an author as well. He possessed too many talents to list here, but those who knew him or met him were always astonished at his many talents. Harry earned his 4th degree during his 50 years as a member of the Knights Of Columbus. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
