The Lakeview High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) sponsored 40 cadets on a Curriculum in Action Trip to the Pensacola Naval Air Station and Aviation Museum May 22-24.

The cadets visited several facilities on the Air Station, completed an aviation history scavenger hunt in the museum and participated in two IMAX presentations, “Asteroids” and “Flight of the Blue Angels.” The trip was supervised by Maj. (Ret) Bob Kellogg, Lakeview’s Senior Aerospace Science Instructor; T/Sgt. (Ret) Kenny Minchew, Aerospace Science instructor; and Lona Frazier, chaperone.

The trip introduced cadets to military and civilian career opportunities, reinforced aviation, space technology and U.S. history assignments studied in Lakeview’s Air Force JROTC Aerospace Science courses. The trip also provided cadet leaders with opportunities to use leadership, planning, teamwork, and communication skills they have studied in Leadership Education.
