Funeral services for Joyce Marie Giddens, 76, of Stonewall will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Hester officiating. Interment will follow in Thomas-Wren Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 22 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Giddens was born May 21,1942, in Coushatta and passed away June 20, 2018. Mrs. Giddens enjoyed spending time outside, especially working with her flowers. She also loved to read and play bingo. Joyce also had a special companion, Mitzi. She will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Clyde Giddens; daughter, Nina Crader; parents, Wesley and Janie Upshaw; three brothers, Gerald Upshaw, Harry Upshaw and Gary Wayne Upshaw; and one sister, Janice Guin.
Mrs. Giddens is survived by two daughters, Joy Fields and husband Curtis of Stonewall and Susan Blanchard and husband Charles of Fairview Alpha; one son, Sidney “Buddy” Giddens and wife Renay of Martin; eight grandchildren, Franchesca Thompson and husband Jason, Miranda Blanchard, Starla Beck and husband Barry, Ginger Blanchard, Sydney Disotell, Caleb Blanchard and wife Chelsea, Vincent Fields and wife Ella, and Jack Fields and wife Intha; 11 great-grandchildren, Nathan Fields, Lane and Jasper Thompson, Rayley Bradley, Eric Edwards, Jaron Blanchard, Cameron Beck, Neena Edwards, Jaxon Blanchard, William “Big Daddy” Fields and Faith Fields; and special friends, Brenda and Ronald Garrett and Mrs. Ivy True Price.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Caleb Blanchard, Jason Thompson, Nathan Fields, Barry Beck, Lane Thompson and Jasper Thompson.
