Carter Elizabeth Yake graduated from Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas, June 2. Her mother, Anne Guenard Yake, grew up in Coushatta where her grandmother, Donna Guenard, still lives. Anne and Donna spent many years going to their camp on Black Lake and always stopped at Grayson’s Barbeque.
Anne’s favorites were the ginger cakes and she taught her girls, Carter and Olivia, to love Grayson’s. They go there every time they visit the area. On the afternoon of Carter’s graduation, her parents, Mike and Anne, hosted an open house featuring desserts. To surprise Carter, her grandmother brought ginger cakes from Grayson’s.
She was thrilled and the cakes and tales about Grayson’s and Black Lake were the hit of the party.
