Louisiana Girls State citizens are pictured marching across the Northwestern State University campus chanting and singing prior to a state party convention assembly. NSU is currently hosting more than 1,000 of Louisiana’s best and brightest rising high school seniors as they attend Louisiana Boys State and Louisiana Girls State this week. Presented by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary, the Boys and Girls State programs foster leadership skills as participants learn how government functions and run for mock state and local offices.
